About the MEF and India |
The MEF is a global industry alliance comprising more than 150 organizations including telecommunications service providers, cable MSOs, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductors vendors and testing organizations. The MEF’s mission is to accelerate the worldwide adoption of Carrier-class Ethernet networks and services. The MEF develops Carrier Ethernet technical specifications to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.
The MEF is active in India, in conjunction with Indian member companies Reliance Communications, Tata Communications, Tejas Networks, Net-02, Wipro and the numerous multinational companies doing business in the Indian market. Activities include educational events, press and analyst relations and incorporating Indian market input into MEF technical specifications.

The MEF web site (www.metroethernetforum.org) is the worldwide source for everything related to Carrier Ethernet including Ethernet Business Services. The information centre provides access to presentations, technical specifications, white papers, and more. The site is regularly updated with the many MEF related events, news coverage etc. |
