INDIA AND U.S. EXPORT CONTROLS

U.S. Defense Export Controls and Their Impact on Indian Companies.

India has budgeted as much as $40 billion through 2012 to procure 'best technologies' for the upgrade of its defense establishment. The recent "End Use Monitoring" agreement between the U.S. and India will enable defense and security trade between the two countries as never before.

The 3rd International Defense Trade Conference offered by OCR Services and Export Compliance Solutions is designed to be an in-depth study of U.S. Export Controls and Their Impact on Indian Companies. Take this opportunity to learn about the applicability of U.S. Export Administration Regulations and more specifically the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and how these regulations impact Indian companies who engage or plan to engage in the import, retransfer and re-export of U.S. controlled products and technologies.

This event is designed to teach how U.S. export and re-export control regulations apply in transactions outside the United States, and how to utilize this information during the course of everyday business.

Presenters will engage the attendees in interactive discussions that include: (1) How to determine if your product is subject to U.S. ITAR; (2) Re-export of Indian products containing U.S. content; (3) Determining if you are brokering; (4) An in-depth look of Technical Assistance and Manufacturing License Agreements; (5) Export implications on marketing and supplying Indian products to the U.S.; and (6) Effective compliance processes for Indian firms. Additionally attendees will enjoy two special luncheon addresses on the Indian Defense Offset Facilitation Agency and Indian Anti-Terrorism and Security Laws.

A VAST OPPORTUNITY FOR THE INDIAN AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE INDUSTRY

"India is positioned to become a key defense market and a future market player, however, to achieve this position and to hold pace with rivals like China who are outspending India by ratios around 5:1, India will have to improve its defense industry and acquisition process."

Increased international security concerns are forcing companies and individuals who use or resell U.S. - origin products, components or technology to become more aware of the long arm of U.S. laws and regulations. The U.S. Government is reaching outside its borders with increasing regularity to impose serious penalties on U.S. and non - U.S. companies who fail to comply with extra territorial U.S. rules.

If you are are going to be involved in defense trade or the transfer of ITAR-controlled defense technology with the United States, you cannot afford to miss the "India and U.S. Export Controls" Conference.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Palmer
