Dr. B.K. Rana is the Deputy Director of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), Quality Council of India. He is responsible for various accreditation programs. Dr. Rana has been appointed as Adviser by Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), USA. He is the member of prestigious ISQua Accreditation Council. He is ISQua Accreditation Council nominee to WHO International Steering Committee for Patient Safety Solutions. He is on Advisory Board of Medical Tourism Association, USA. He is on the Board of Asian Society for Quality in Health Care (ASQua) as well Chairman of its Technical Committee. He also serves as ISQua surveyor. He is a member of European Pathway Association.
Prior to his career at NABH, Dr. B.K. Rana served as Accreditation Officer and Manger-Proficiency Testing at National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories (NABL). He is a Trainer and Lead Assessor for Medical Assessors as per ISO 15189. Dr. Rana has also served as International Expert as APLAC Evaluator for evaluation of accreditation bodies.
Dr. Rana began his career as Scientist at Vimta Labs Limited, Hyderabad in 1998 and had a short stint as Post Doc Fellow at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad.
Dr. B.K. Rana did his Ph.D in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has published eight research papers in international journals and attended several scientific conferences and symposia.
