Dr. Ajit K. Nagpal is a Harvard graduate with preparation in Medicine, Hospital Administration, and Health Policy & Management. His principal interests include global and national health policy, financing of health services, regional health planning, and hospital planning & development.

His lifetime endeavors have been focused on optimizing the use of technology and human skills in achieving the highest standards of technical efficiency, clinical effectiveness, and quality in the delivery of healthcare.

Dr. Nagpal is the Chairman of the Executive Council at Batra Hospital and Medical Research Center, New Delhi, a 500 bedded multi-specialty, super-specialty Center of Excellence; Chairman of Healthcare Sub-Committee of Confederation of Indian Industries on Public Private Partnerships; and Group Chairman of Wellogic Group, an award winning Healthcare Information Technology Corporation with its headquarter in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Until recently, Dr. Nagpal was the Principal Advisor on Health Policy & Hospital Affairs to the Ministry of Health, United Arab Emirates for over a decade, and authored legislation on health sector reforms in the country, including autonomization and privatization of public hospitals through the creation of Abu Dhabi General Authority for Health Services; and formulation of National Health Insurance Policy through the introduction of Mandated Health Insurance Scheme in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Nagpal was also the Chairman of Scientific Advisory Council of Welcare World Health Systems, a multi-specialty healthcare delivery network in the Gulf region with major presence as the lead center of excellence in tertiary care in the prestigious Dubai Health Care City.

Previously, Dr. Nagpal was the Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir of the Indian Union, and the Founder Director & CEO, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Srinagar, a postgraduate medical school and a deemed University.

Dr. Nagpal was also the Member of the Medical Council of India and the Chairman of Hospital Planning Sectoral Committee, Bureau of Indian Standards.
